Because a) he's loaded and thus can afford to gamble, and b) he didn't trade me the 19th. I got MAR's pick just to try and get him, but Baņuelos didn't go that far down. Kinda surprised that RCH, MEM, CAN and MIN passed on him.

Here was  why I did not draft him

1. Fair for hits
2. D range
3. No speed
4. K's
5. Prone for injury rating.

At picked Vosberg because he is better rated. Not better in homers and walks but, speed, range, hits and injury rating. Just my thoughts. Now if he at least can get a jump in hits we all made a mistake by not drafting him.

That's the thing, that you can bump his hits to average with 30 participation points. You did well, but all those contenders who passed on him had nothing to lose and plenty to gain.

I think being able to change a player's primary ratings (hits, 2b, HR, BB, SO) is the worst thing that has happened to this league, and the most gimmicky.  We should call it what it actually is: team-endorsed use of steroids.  Not a good message to send.

Two seasons submitting lineups without a miss to increase a talent from fair to average I'd call team-endorsed use of aspirines, really.

yea, I think it is fine.  I just traded in 2 years worth of point to go from fair to average.

1 - You can change their talents, not their ratings. That is a huge difference. Changing the talents, especially to older guys, doesn't do as much as you seem to think.

1a - Example - Hutchinson, the first guy changed from Fair to Average in hits, despite even getting an additional in game talent increase to good in hits, is still a 4 rating in hits, over 1 year later.

1b - Example - OF Campo, fair to average in HR (prospect). Was a 2 rating 1 year ago, still is a 2 rating.

2 - There are actually, in my opinion, far more effective uses of the 30 points than messing with talents that have a much greater impact on the player or team. To each his own.

3 - Complaints about participation rewards coming from someone who can't be bothered to submit lineups on any kind of regular basis carry less weight Smiley (with the reminder that a 2 word "no changes" email can suffice for lineup credit)
