1. Every team gets 1 player rename point per year free
2. Additional points may be purchased at any time for $1 million cash
3. Points roll over from year to year, but you may only ever have a max of 3.
4. Eligibility - Must be applied to a player before the completion of a season in which he receives his 1st major league AB.
5. Real life pitchers should be pitchers in CBL, hitters should be hitters in CBL, etc.
6. Costs :

It costs 1 point to rename a player to a real life major league player's name. The new player must never have made the majors in the CBL, and must be an active player in the real MLB or minor leagues. Proof of such must be supplied when applying for rename (link to player profile on web, stats page, etc). Obviously the new player name should not be active in the current CBL.

It costs 3 points to rename a player to a fictional name (your best friend, your dog, a movie character, etc). Again, this name must not be someone who has played in the CBL already (Nuke Laloosh, etc). Fictional names are subject to review and denial.

The reason fictional names cost more, is we want to encourage renaming to real players. So think of it as a discount for a real player name

Minor change effective with any new renames. Rename points can be purchased now for $1 million cash, instead of $2 million. This is to hopefully encourage more usage of the feature.

Another minor rule change - can name change guys the season in which they receive their 1st major league AB or IP, provided the name change is completed prior to the end of that season (when Catobase is run).

Can we rename to retired players that haven't been used in CBL?
